“Every building has its own sound,” says architect and sound artist Gisle Nataas, inviting us to listen to the buildings. Together with double bassist Håkon Thelin, Nataas explores two iconic buildings. The Gyldendal House in Oslo and Storhamarlåven at the Domkirkeodden in Hamar were designed by one of Norway’s most significant 20th-century architects, Sverre Fehn. Gisle Nataas aims to capture the sound of the architecture, treating the buildings themselves as independent instruments. This idea comes to life in the album Architecture as Instrument / Fehn by and with Gisle Nataas and Håkon Thelin.
